Visit Meck VA is the tourism office for Mecklenburg County, Virginia, home to Buggs Island Lake, Lake Gaston and six small towns. It promotes the county's lakes, state parks, wineries, historic sites, restaurants and events to visitors and helps them plan their stay.
Mecklenburg County sits between Buggs Island Lake and Lake Gaston, with six small towns, state parks, wineries, historic sites and a long list of local restaurants and shops. The county's previous visitor site leaned on a rotating image slider and a handful of broad sections, so the depth of what's actually here was hard to see, and harder to turn into a plan.
Visitors needed more than inspiration. They needed to know where to eat in South Hill, how far Occoneechee State Park is from Clarksville, and what a weekend on the lake could look like. The tourism team also needed a site they could keep current themselves as businesses open, listings change and new stories come in.

We designed the site around how people plan a trip: pick a place, find things to do nearby, then fill out the days. Communities, the business directory, lake guides and ready-made tours all link to one another, so a visitor reading about Boydton is one click away from the restaurants, trails and drive times that go with it.
Underneath, listings, towns, tours and lake reports are structured content in WordPress and JetEngine rather than one-off pages. Our graphic design work gave the brand a warmer, lake-country look, with hand-lettered headlines, textured edges and a palette pulled from Southern Virginia sunsets, carried through every template.

More than 180 local businesses and attractions live in one directory, each with its own listing page, photos, contact details and address. Visitors can search by name or jump between categories like Dining, Recreation, Lodging and Weddings.
Hand-lettered headlines, warm sunset colors and full-bleed photography of the lakes and towns give the county a look that's unmistakably its own. The site now sells the "more of what matters" feeling before a visitor reads a word.
Town guides, perfect-day timelines, drive times and themed tours give visitors a concrete starting point. Someone deciding between Clarksville and Boydton can see what's there, how far apart they are and how to fill the weekend.
Listings, towns, tours and lake reports are structured content, so the tourism team can add a new restaurant or update a fishing report in one place and have it appear across the directory, town pages and maps automatically.
Many trips are planned on the road, so every template adapts to small screens, with stacked cards, large tap targets and a compact menu. Directory listings, drive times and tours all work as well on a phone as they do at a desk.
